Got some gorgeous weather for Michigan in November and made a new friend at work.
This gorgeous Galaxy 500 belongs to guy in the front office. 1 family car since new. The interior was perfect.
And if oppo dies, it’s been fun you all and hopefully we’ll have a new place to go.

Trivia note: It’s “G alaxie” because trademark rules are silly and marketing is sillier . Similar to how the “Flexible” bus and coachbuilding company omitted the first “e” and used “Flxible”. There is a Ford “Galaxy” which is a van. In Europe.

On the “marketing is pretentious” angle, “premiere” is an actual word in english, if more pretentious than “premier” - which is why the Lincoln model of the late ‘50s was called a Premiere. More obscure word, and sliding trademark rules meaning that you could trademark common words as long as nobody in their right mind other than you would generically call a car that - along with a more relaxed attitude at companies about “somebody might steal my car name!” and being sure to legally protect all names six ways from Sunday.
Nobody else was *really* going to start a bus company named “Flexible” and compete with Flxible and dilute their trademark, but paranoia, you know? Better to trademark it. “But flexible is a common word” “OKAY, FINE”
Note the change through the ‘50s across most marques from multi-word model names and weird trademark trim levels (Master Deluxe, Fleetline) to place names (Bel Air, Biscayne) and more-simple words (Nomad) by the end of the decade.
Some companies never really cared that much about Extra Special Trademarkable Model Names in the first place, and just had fancy sub-model or option names . Hudson and Studebaker, for example: Hudson Hornet, Studebaker Champion . “Twin H-power” option on Hudsons, submodels of the Champion as “Starlight” etc.

This kinda stuff is why I’m going to miss this place, if and when we get shut down.
